TDK presents a demonstration unit that sensing data for temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure can be transmitting to Smart phone over Bluetooth LE wireless communication.
The demonstration unit takes energy harvesting system by hiring PV (Photo Voltaic solar cell) and EDLC (Electric double layer capacitor) device of TDK.
TDK's PV (Soler Cells) has advantage of light weight, mechanical shape design flexibility thanks to hiring film material.
TDK's EDLC has advantage of lower profile thanks to housing lamination process.
Those devices are capable making the demonstration unit tiny case size of 37 x 24 x 6mm.
