Since its founding in 1885, Fujikura has researched, developed, and manufactured wires and cables, giving rise to numerous "Tsunagu" (connecting) technologies along the way. The company has used these technologies to consistently deliver highly reliable products to customers operating in the realms of energy, telecommunications, electronics, and automotive components, thus contributing to development.
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) which Fujikura provides offer excellent power generating properties even in room light conditions. These DSCs are used as the power source in a 920 MHz multi-hop wireless energy-harvesting (EH)-type environment sensor system. This sensor system can collect data from sensors detecting temperature and humidity, light irradiation, atmospheric pressure, presence of person and externally connected sensors.
